Overview
BFCCPS offers Grade 6-8 students both academic rigor and personal attention during these years of tremendous developmental growth. The Core Knowledge Sequence, a content rich curriculum, including intriguing history and literature and advanced science concepts, extends through the 8'th grade. In addition to the core subjects (history, English, math, science) the students' schedules include: French, Latin, performing arts, art and music history, and physical education. The curriculum is explored through projects, reports and active investigations.
The small student population - 48 students per grade - allows every student to become closely involved in the life of the school from structured community service
activities and participation in student council to the extensive band and chorus program
and the spring musical. Students have ample opportunities to interact with students in younger grades, to serve as leaders in the school, and to develop close working relationships with their teachers.
