Welcome to the Head of School Page

Dear
Parents and Guardians:
On behalf of The Benjamin Franklin Classical
Charter Public School, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to a
new school year. I very much enjoyed my second year in this school and need to
thank everyone for their support. The new organizational structure this past
year with a new Assistant Head of School, Faculty and Board committees and
Teacher Leadership Team worked extremely well. We are looking forward to another
rewarding and successful year for both you and your children.
BFCCPS is committed to your child's education and
well being. We believe that a strong partnership between school and your family
will result in success for students. One of the pillars of the school is that
parents are a child's primary educator. With interest in your child's
schoolwork, participation in school activities and attendance at curriculum and
parent evenings you can demonstrate that your child's education is top priority.
You might take your child to a museum knowing they are learning about "Egypt" or
"Meteorology", and in this way you as Parents as Primary Educators, are
supporting the curriculum and the mission of the school.
Communication is the key to success. We have a
state of the art website, www.bfccps.org. We also provide
this parent handbook, weekly Parent Newsletters (the pink sheet), and monthly
"Scope and Sequences" to keep you informed and knowledgeable about your child's
daily life at school. Please visit and read these materials throughout
the year to clarify any school matter that you may have. Any matter that is not
clarified in these communications; you always welcome to call the school. The
weekly Pink Sheet newsletter you will receive every Wednesday through the
youngest child in your family and also sent via email weekly. The monthly
curriculum/community service/character education, Scope and Sequence you
will receive on the first Thursday of every month. Please read these
publications as they will
provide the communication necessary for a
successful school year.
'
My door is always open if you wish to clarify any
rule, regulation or policy or if you have the need to simply come in and chat. I
wish you and your family a successful school year.
Sincerely,
Kevin 0' Malley, Ed.D
Head of School
