Foundation Committees

Capital Campaign: The Capital Campaign Committee's mission is to create and support the Capital Campaign. The campaign's main objective is to raise funds to build and own the Charter School. The Capital Campaign Committee will work on two specific areas over the next year:
  • Hire, support and assist a Professional Fund Raiser to kick off the campaign in the Fall of 2002
  • Work locally, Statewide and Nationally in focusing fundraising efforts towards building the school.
Corporate Finance: The mission of the Corporate Finance team is to identify and research potential opportunities to obtain non-contributory sources of financing. Our goal is to establish a network of contacts in areas such as tax-exempt financing, bank loans and private loan placements.

Fundraising/Foundation Events: The purpose of the Events Committee is to coordinate and execute all matters pertaining to Foundation sponsored fundraising events. The events handled by this committee at this time are The Annual Auction, Grandparent's Day, and 4th of July Booth. The chairperson will take volunteers for the delegation of tasks such as solicitation, invitations, event decorating, and participation in running the event.

Public Relations/Communications: Provide timely collection and dissemination of information that is pertinent to its various constituencies, both within and external to the Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School community. Specific responsibilities include:
  • The publication of Foundation articles, notices and announcements in the monthly school newsletter, the Courant.
  • Posting Foundation articles, notices and announcements on the BFCCPS website.
  • Distribution of Foundation articles, notices and announcements in the weekly BFCCPS mailings.
  • Development and maintenance of a directory of media contacts.
  • Development and distribution of Foundation press releases to local, regional and national media outlets.
  • Collection and maintenance of articles, news stories, books, and publications about the charter school movement.
  • Development of Foundation collateral materials.
Real Estate Development: The purpose of the Real Estate Committee is to initiate the site development and facility design processes leading up to the construction of a new school facility to be located on Washington Street in Franklin Massachusetts. On an ongoing basis, the members interact with various external professional resources engaged in the project.
