CharacterCounts!
CharacterCounts! is an organization
that supports and promotes character education programs in schools, athletic
programs and communities around the globe. They create various resources
including lesson plans, trade books, activity guides, DVDs
and support materials like stickers, posters and bookmarks, which reinforce the
sub-virtues of
Trustworthiness, Responsibility, Respect, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.
These sub-virtues fall under the four umbrella virtues of Justice, Fortitude,
Temperance and Prudence,
all of which comprise the foundation of the Character Education program at
BFCCPS.
Teachers are using various CharacterCounts! resources to enhance their character
education curriculum in the classroom
and in their Advisory Groups (grades 5-8).
