Mission Statement
The mission of the Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School is to assist parents in their role as primary educators of their children by providing the children with a classical academic education coupled with sound character development and community service.
The founding parents established a public school that emphasizes the role of
parents as primary educators and supports their efforts to prepare the whole
child through character education, community service, as well as providing
academic depth. Faculty promote character traits that are universally respected
and academic content that American school children should know.
BFCCPS Four Pillars
|
The Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School, a public school, stands on the four pillars of its mission statement. These pillars guide, direct, and define the school in all it does. These are the pillars: |
|
 |
We rely on Parents as the Primary Educators of their
children. We expect parents to work to support the classroom teaching of
their children by making curriculum connections at home, modeling
virtue, and extending community service activities. |
|
 |
Our
academic program
is founded upon the
Core Knowledge Sequence Content Guidelines for Grades K-8 and
constructed to mesh with the
Massachusetts Curriculum
Frameworks. The Core Knowledge Sequence strongly emphasizes a common
body of knowledge needed by our children to be included in our national
literate culture. |
|
 |
All adults in the school community promote
Character Education
by attention to embodiment of virtues such as justice, temperance,
prudence and fortitude. Students learn to identify and integrate virtue
as part of their essential education. |
|
 |
Students at every grade level participate in
Community Service,
as a means to demonstrate to them their potential as agents of good in
the world about them and highlight the importance of that effort.
Parents are encouraged to engage the family in the community service
outside of school hours. |
