School Overview

The Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School (BFCCPS) is a public charter school in Franklin, Massachusetts.
Our mission is to assist parents in their role as primary educators of their children by providing the children with a classical academic education coupled with sound character development and community service.
Among the first charter schools in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, The Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public School opened its doors in September 1995 with 150 students in grades Kindergarten through Four.

The Massachusetts Department of Education states, "the purpose of the Massachusetts charter school initiative is to create new independent public schools that increase student achievement, offer parents more choices, encourage school districts to improve, and are held accountable for results. Charter schools, such as Benjamin Franklin, which started from scratch by parents, teachers, business and community leaders have the freedom to organize their activities around a core mission, curriculum or teaching method.
